Sometimes a feather plucking is due to a medical issue. So, if your bird hasn't been to the vet for a wellness exam in the last 6 - 12 months, please schedule an appointment as soon as you can. The vet will do an exam to make sure all systems are operating properly.
Please note that through March 2023 we are experiencing supply chain issues with bird collars.
Bird collars help to distract mild feather pluckers and can interrupt a habit from developing.
Look for a bird collar that is lightweight and that covers the area that you want to protect. Consider the Slip-on Cone, a Birdie Bandana, or a Sock Vest.
Your goal at this stage is to interrupt a habit from developing while you work on long-term solutions for changing plucking behavior.
